  • Las Vegas

I'm in Las Vegas visiting Josh and Natalie and having a really good time.  They have been telling me that I should move here for a while, and now that I am actually here and getting to experience their world, I think I would very much like to do just that.  I just need to go home and talk it over with Jesse.  I'd imagine that we will both be moving out here in about 2 1/2 months or so, shortly after he is done with an art show that he is putting on in Defiance.

I really love the vision of the church they go to out here, and I 'm even considering taking some classes in their school of ministry.  I'm really looking forward to all the new relationships that I'll be able to make and living in community with people in of all places--Las Vegas.  I'm sure it is something that I will have many fond memories of when I reflect back on it.  I'm just so excited about all of the areas that I feel I will be able to grow in out here!  Josh tells me that he will be my personal trainer and help me gain 25 pounds of muscle.  If that happens, I don't think I'll even recognize myself! =)  But if there is anyone that I believe could help me do it, it's Josh.  I also hope to have some of his superior guitar playing skills rub off on me.  Anything would help at this point. =)

Did I mention how beautiful it is here and how great the weather is?  I think it will make it much easier to stay active.  We went on a great hike on Sunday at a park called Red Rock.  Here's a picture of the trail we hiked--"Ice Box":

Josh and Natalie friend, Greg, is already talking about how we need to buy mountain bikes, so we can enjoy some trails...All in due time my friend.

I spent 4 hours exploring the strip on Wednesday morning after I dropped Natalie off at school.  I had an entire day to myself with no where to be or nothing that had to be done, so I thought it might be fun.  There were a few really beautiful places, some really fancy shops and restaurants, and I'm sure some really great shows to see, but all in all, I didn't find it too exciting.  Not too surprising for a guy that doesn't gamble.  I'm sure that I will enjoy some of the fun things available there with friends in the future.

  • Bringing sexy back...

Okay, so I received an email from Xanga a week or two ago saying that it had been a long time since I'd logged in and inviting me to do so and check out all the new changes that they have made.  So I clicked on the link and did so, and when I did it posted this automatic weblog which many of you have commented on, which has led me to believe that I am somehow called to bring sexy back, or that I at least needed to change my "not so flattering" profile pic.=)  I think that the picture I chose does a good job of capturing my "bringing sexy back" face and pose.  It's nice to know that there are so many of you out there that are interested in the happenings of my life.

I make no promises to creat the most amazing Xanga site ever, but I will try to keep you all a little more updated on current events in the life of Jonathan Greve.  Right now, Josh and Natalie are back in Ohio for a few days.  They came back to pick up the rest of their things and drive them to Las Vegas.  I just bought a plane ticket tonight, so that I can drive back with them and spend a little over a week with them and then fly back.  It will be a great time I'm sure!

A few recommendations:  If you haven't seen the movie Lars and the Real Girl yet--then do.  Also Jesse and I were recently introduced to a show that aired a few years ago on Fox--Arrested Development--very funny, right up there next to the office in my book.

Things with Jesse (my roommate and best friend) have just been really good lately.  I really feel like our relationship has grown in the last month or so.  We have greater transparency and openess in sharing.  His friendship is invaluable to me!  I would be seriously lost without him!

  • Okay, if you are reading this, you really need to click on the link below and check out this incredibly annointed song.  Natalie posted the lyrics to it on her site a week or so ago, and I was hanging out with her and Josh on Wednesday night when I saw the video for the first time.

I promise you won't be disappointed.  It's Kim Walker singing He Loves Us off of the new Jesus Culture album We Cry Out.

  • I still believe

It is such a needed encouragement at times to see God's promises fulfilled in other people's lives.  I've been subscribing to alot of new peoples xanga posts lately.  I just finished reading Mike and Christina Guzzardo's pages.  I love those guys!  It's people like them and Joel and Casey Johnson who are a little further down the path of life that really inspire me.

It's been a strong desire of my heart since I was 9 years old to have an incredible marriage.  Although not perfect, I've pursued all that I have known to in order to prepare for just that, and I still believe that my beauty is on her way.
